About Us

We are Team Refract and we are definitely a little bit different (good different). Hopefully, so are you.

In December 2020, Refract was acquired by Allego and is now Refract, an Allego Company.

About Refract, an Allego Company:

Based in ‘The Core’ in the centre of Newcastle, we’re a world-class SaaS business, solving challenges for sales leaders and coaches – identifying and remedying mistakes and missed opportunities on calls, demos and emails, whilst turning ‘good moments’ into ‘great’ by sharing best practice.

Launched less than 5 years ago, our sales coaching and revenue intelligence platform is making waves – our clients include VMWare, Zoopla, Reach PLC, NeoPost, Daisy Group, and Emerson Reid, amongst a host of technology, recruitment, contact centre and sales coaching organisations.

The founding team previously built one of the region’s biggest SaaS businesses and learned many lessons along the way (with scars to prove it!). Our product is awesome and is getting better and better. The market opportunity is massive and our product is used globally.

About Allego

Allego is a RAPIDLY growing SaaS technology company based in the metro Boston area with a modern approach to sales learning and coaching. Our technology ensures that sales teams have the skills and latest knowledge to make the most of every selling situation. With nearly 500,000 users relying on Allego’s modern sales learning and readiness platform to help them crush their quota, we’ve experienced triple digit growth every year. Not only are we growing quickly, but Inc. Magazine has named us a 2020 Best Workplace.

As part of the Allego Group, Refract is the HQ for Europe and we are building a Tech Hub right here in Newcastle. This opening welcomes you to become part of the team and embark on a journey that will change your life.

About The Role

You will join a small team of highly motivated, highly skilled engineers, working on greenfield development as we enhance and build out our SaaS product.

Refract primarily (but not exclusively) adopts the Microsoft Technology Stack to produce its world class solution. The main tech we work with is:

  • Microsoft Azure
  • C#, Entity Framework, ASP.NET WebApi
  • SQL Server
  • AngularJS, LessCss
  • Python, NLTK

Our engineering team adopts CI/CD principles and strives to achieve best practical practice in all areas from design and architecture, to implementation and quality assurance.

Being a developer at Refract is about more than just building software. As a SaaS business, engineering is integral and core to success at Refract. A typical developer week at Refract will involve:

  • Learning and personal development
  • Collaboration with commercial teams
  • Integrating Refract with third party solutions
  • Whiteboarding and thought mapping
  • Research & development
  • …and of course, coding!

We have an aggressive roadmap for our Call Coaching and Revenue Intelligence platform and are making ground breaking changes to the way sales coaching is executed.

We monitor our technologies closely. We react to change, and may quickly (but efficiently) switch to an alternate service to maintain a competitive advantage in a busy SaaS world.

About You

We promote an open and vibrant culture, filled with personality. Everyone is essential to achieve our business goals, and that includes you!

You should be highly motivated, able to work cohesively within a team and able to lead your own projects too. At Refract, an Allego Company, we leave the ego at the door. You should be ready to put your best foot forward, but join in the learning and development culture where we work together to better ourselves and the success of the business.

Your technical skills should be on-point. If you consider yourself a ninja developer, a 2x, or a 10x developer, you will fit right in. Or maybe you're modest, but secretly you know you are good, you will also fit right in! If you are ready to work hard (and reap the rewards too), then apply for this role now.
