XR Therapeutics provides health professionals with the technology to effectively deliver therapeutic interventions among individuals with autism, phobias and situation-specific anxieties. We combine traditional CBT and exposure therapies through a wide range of virtual reality environments. The therapies have been extensively tried and tested for nearly a decade and have been commended by NHS practitioners.

We are a small but fast growing team, we are looking for an experienced Unity Developer to join XRT to produce a range of realistic 3D scenes that will be deployed to a range of virtual reality platforms.

Role overview

The Unity Developer will be integral to the development and delivery of our products and services for the health sector in the UK and globally. A Unity generalist, the role will primarily be to develop VR environments deployed via a remote Software as a Service model (SaaS). You will be based within a small team and will be given the opportunity to use your own initiative to provide fully optimised solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribution to the design and specification of solutions for virtual scene production by the technical team
  • Solid development documentation, demonstration to internal team and clients
  • Communication and collaboration within  XRT and to its clients and partners.
  • Remote and 0n-site technical support provided as required


Key qualifications and experience



  • 3+ years experience and a deep knowledge of Unity 3D
  • Object oriented programming C++/C#
  • 3D graphics programming experience including knowledge of equirectangular projection.
  • General understanding and experience with SaaS technology ecosystem including CMS and data management.
  • Scrum based innovative and agile mind-set.
  • Excellent understanding of 3D modelling and requirements for “in-game” optimisation.
  • Excellent understanding of UX/UI design in 3D environments
  • Ability to build rapid prototypes as and when required.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication and presentation skills.


  • Previous - demonstrable - VR/AR/MR project experience.
  • Experience in developing for Oculus standalone HMDs.
  • Unreal Engine experience.
  • Experienced in software for ideating and production of specifications such as Miro, Balsamiq and Lucid Chart.
